Proverbs as Affirmations
I am the author of Affirmational Proverbs. You can't find them in a book, at least not yet. However, you can find them on the web. The chapters are being added a day at a time during the month of May, 2008. So what is Affirmational Proverbs - they are proverbs that have been rewritten in an affirmational style. How I did this was that I used three different bibles, one of them being a children's bible, and worked on getting the gist of the meaning of each verse. (It is amazing how differently bibles can say things in different ways.) Anyway, I wrote down these general and combined meanings for each and every verse. I also replaced the word man with people, so that they could more readily be used by anybody. Then I took what I had written and rephrased each translation into an affirmation. I had wanted something that I could use that would help me in my own living of life. And I find it a lot more helpful if an instruction is said in a kind and gentle way, and sticks with what is desired. I then rewrote and further fine tuned some grammar. I then started another rewrite, just to have each chapter on a different colored paper, making it easier to locate each day's reading, of a chapter a day.
